Rupture or pop-outs are caused by a number of things, poor vibration of initial concrete pour, bars to close to the surface that allows rusting and or freeze thaw action to occur. Other factors could be that the bar ends were to close to the surface. Repair methods include, removal of the problem area and replacement. Installation of steel reinforced concrete gunite liner.
